As soon as the temperatures start to dip, I get the itch to switch up our bedding for something a little cozier (well, let’s be honest… I get the itch to switch up the whole house). This year I challenged myself to create a winter-ready bed without spending a ton, I’m so happy with how it turned out!
The Affordable Amazon Find
The star of the refresh is this adorable (and super affordable!) gingham duvet cover I found on Amazon. I wanted something seasonal that could also be used all year, and the gingham pattern was so perfect for that!
Repurposing What I Already Owned
Instead of buying all-new layers, I shopped my own linen closet. I pulled out a couple of quilts from Target and Amazon that I already owned and used the same pillows. They worked perfectly with the new duvet. Layering different textures always makes a bed feel richer and cozier, especially for winter, and I love that I was able to do it without spending a dime!
The Rest of the Room Details
Our Bed is the Ophelia from Rove Concepts in Alesund. It is still one of my favorite furniture purchases ever!
Our warm area rug and my tried-and-true Target nightstands, have been staples for the last few years and I do not plan on switching them anytime soon!
I also bought a new Christmas tree for our room this year which turned out so fun!
If you’re thinking about giving your own bedroom a seasonal update, don’t underestimate the power of mixing pieces you already own with one or two new finds!
xoxo,
Lauren Emily Wiltse
