Office Details + Bookshelf

I’m so excited to finally share my home office reveal with you! This space has truly been a labor of love! We moved in last December and I have loved this cute space, but I knew it needed a little bit more character. I got on Pinterest for ideas and I originally thought about adding some wallpaper for that extra personality and charm. After doing some research and wanting to stay within a budget, I decided to give stenciling a try, and wow, I’m so glad I did! Check out my video of my office here!

Why I Chose to Stencil Instead of Wallpaper

Wallpaper can be stunning, but let’s be honest… it can also be pricey and tricky to install. I wanted something with a similar visual impact, but without the cost. While scrolling through Pinterest one night, I stumbled across a post by @home_bycourt, who had beautifully stenciled her bathroom using a floral pattern. The moment I saw it, I was hooked! I knew I needed to bring that same soft, romantic vibe into my office.

So I rolled up my sleeves, ordered the supplies, and got to work. I used the same paint color as the inspo photo, Benjamin Moore Louisburg Green (HC-113). A lovely, muted green that feels both calming and creative.

Let me just say… stenciling is not for the faint of heart! 😂 I worked on the walls slowly in the evenings, usually after dinner and once everything else for the day was done. All in all, it took me about 45 days to complete… but it was 100% worth it. It’s now one of my favorite things in the room and adds so much texture and character.

Affordable Office Details You’ll Love

Of course, the walls are just one piece of the puzzle. I really wanted this space to feel functional and beautiful without spending a fortune, so I sourced pieces that were affordable and aesthetic. Here’s a breakdown of everything in the room:

Desk: This is a height-adjustable desk from Hulala, and I can’t say enough good things about it. I love that my walking pad fits under it so I can get my step in while working! Heads up, this was one of my office splurges.

Chair: Found this comfy office chair on Amazon it’s really comfy and the neutral tone matches everything.

Lamp: A Target find awhile back! I wanted a warm glow while working in the evenings, and this neutral lamp completed the look perfectly.

Photo Prints: I found these beautiful, floral prints on Etsy before even deciding to stencil, and they really tie the room together.

Bookshelves: I am so in love with these neutral ratan bookshelves! These were gifted from a brand on Amazon. I styled them with a mix of books, vases, and decorative pieces.

Faux Olive Tree: I love a good touch of greenery, this faux olive tree and planter is one I have had for years. It looks so real!

Rug: Another item that was kindly gifted to me! I wanted something that was the same tone as my carpet and fell in love with this gray checkered rug! Bonus points that it is soft.

Pilates Reformer: Yes, I managed to fit my Pilates reformer in here too! It tucks away nicely and motivates me to move during the day.

This office has become such a happy place for me! A blend of work, creativity, and calm. The process of putting it all together, especially the stenciled walls, was time-consuming but incredibly rewarding. I hope this inspires you to tackle a space in your home, even if it’s slowly and on a budget. Don’t underestimate the power of paint, patience, and a Pinterest board!

xoxo,

Lauren Emily Wiltse
