I love working from home, I have spent a long time making my home office a happy space! From the bright paint on the walls, to my fun rug – every inch of this room truly makes me so happy! With that being said, owning your own business, or working from home in general, comes with some challenges. I feel like most of my week is spent sitting down at my desk staring at a computer. Over the last year, I have made a lot of improvements to my work space that has helped me both physically and mentally have a healthy work routine and lifestyle!
I wanted to share some of the products and tips that have helped me in hopes that it would help some of you who are also working from home. A lot of these tips you can also bring into the office too! Let’s get into it!
1. Organization
There was a time when my desk was completely disheveled. In turn, it also meant my work day felt crazy. I hated searching for things I needed mid-day. It made my office feel chaotic and less peaceful. I spent some time this year organizing and it has helped so much! I love knowing exactly where everything is!
2. Water, Water, Water
I know this may seem obvious, but it is so important to always have water within reach! I can’t tell you how many times I used to get through my work day and realize I had not drank any water. Now, I fill a full bottle every morning and by the afternoon I am needing a refill! Having water close by helps train your brain to mindlessly reach for it.
3. My Walking Pad
This is one of my favorite office additions! I purchased a walking pad last year and now I can get my steps in while working! I have a wooden desk riser that allows me to use my computer while I walk, and I get miles of extra steps in that I never used to!
A fun tip, I have “indoor shoes” that I only wear inside! This helps keep my office clean, and I also feel like I get way more done when I am wearing women’s running shoes. I love my adidas NMD_R1 sneaker that I was gifted from adidas!
4. Happy Quotes
I love having happy quotes & sayings all over my office! Whether it’s my journal, my computer background, or a quick break to read a quote book. It really helps my mentality!
5. Work Breaks
This is so important for your mental health! Whether it’s to go on a quick walk or just sitting down to read for 15 minutes. Having quick breaks can help your mental health and focus for the rest of the day! I love taking my dogs on a walk!
