The Wiltse Wedding – The Morning Of & First Looks❤️ Napa Valley, CA (Wedding Diary Part 3)

We’ve made it to my favorite part of the wedding series, our wedding day! I am going to split this into a few parts because I want to go through the timeline of the day. Plus, I have a million photos from my amazing wedding photographer, Hallie Fry, that I can’t wait to share!

The morning of July 8th started out exactly how I wanted it, I woke up with Cam and we had coffee in bed! I know, I know, untraditional… but it was such a sweet and peaceful start to the day! I also surprisingly slept really well the night before. I think it helped to keep my routine, so I was happy I ended up going the less traditional route. What can I say? I married the person who makes me feel so loved and comfortable! I showered, slipped on a pair of white satin pajamas with our date embroidered on the sleeve, then walked through our backyard over to my parent’s house to get ready and meet all my girls!

By the time I got there my bridesmaids & mom were hanging out and getting ready! We all chatted, had breakfast, and got our hair and makeup done by The Pretty Bride Co. (a KC based bridal company, they are amazing)! One of my best friends, Lily, could not make it to our wedding. Little did I know, she had planned a surprise gift with the rest of my bridesmaids to give to me that morning! She Facetimed me while I opened the most thoughtful book full of letters and photos from all of my friends. It was the first time all weekend I couldn’t hold back my tears – I truly have the greatest friends! I could not even get through all the letters! It was the perfect start to our wedding day!

I snuck off mid-morning and gave my parents their gifts. I am glad I did not wait for the photographer to show up because it was a special moment with just us. They have worked so hard for my sisters and I their whole lives. They truly made Cameron and I’s wedding dreams come true and I have never felt more lucky! They are the most supportive, loving parents. I am so blessed to have them.

I will link my getting ready outfit here! I started the morning in my cute embroidered PJ set from Etsy. It would not be my wedding without multiple outfit changes, so I bought this cute pearl robe from Etsy and paired it with an Amazon satin set! Each of my bridesmaids and Cameron and my mom wore a cute white satin pj set from Revolve! I also gave each girl and our moms these custom tote bags to keep their things in all day! We opened some champagne and got a few photos taken and before I knew it we were hopping on the shuttle to head to our ceremony location, Beaulieu Gardens!

Meanwhile the guys were next door hanging out, eating, and getting ready. Cameron had his suit custom made here in Kansas City and I love how it turned out! He had a vision for what he wanted the inside of the suit to look like, so him and I spent an evening designing it from scratch! He had details of our rings, our pup, our wedding logo, and Champagne as a symbol fo Napa! It was such a special memory to design it together, and I’m glad he got to have a special ‘fit too! The guys headed to the ceremony space a little while after us so the day could really begin!

This is when I felt like the day started going by so fast. We all started getting dressed at the venue and my mom helped me get into my dress! I had two dresses on our wedding day, each went with the vibe of the venues so perfectly (if I do say so myself). For our ceremony, I wore a Martina Liana A-Line Gown with 3D florals (LE1148). I was obsessed with it! It was one of the first dresses I tried on when I was at my dress appointment and I instantly fell in love. I love how it looked on our wedding day with our wedding grand florals and the garden/vineyard venue! My friends all got their bridesmaid dresses on and then it was time to start first looks!

I had a first look with my dad first! It was a moment I will never forget. He hugged me and was so nervous he messed up my hair haha! He is so sweet. My dad already knew what my dress looked like because he actually went dress shopping with me. Another “less traditional” part of our wedding that I loved! I have two sisters, so my dad has been there for a fair amount of shopping growing up! Having him there when I picked out my dress was truly so special, and it all came full circle on our wedding day!

My first look with Cam was next. I remember walking out and seeing him turned away from me and getting butterflies! It was a perfect moment, I am so glad we have a video of our first look because I was so nervous I did not remember what we said to each other! It was definitely all starting to feel so real! From that moment on though I truly felt so relaxed all day. Cameron is my person and there is something about being around him that calms me. We hugged and chatted about our days and soaked up the moment. It was the most perfect first look I could have asked for!

After our first look I gave him a hanky that my tailor, The Wedding Detailor, had made him. It had our pup sewn on it! I also had a matching one sewn in my dress which was a fun detail. The weather could not have been more perfect on our day. The weekend before had been 100º, so our 80º day was perfection! However, wearing formal-wear always makes you a bit toasty, so we took some time to cool off  before taking a few photos together!

One of our favorite parts of the venue we chose was a long driveway lined with trees. The photos we took there were magical and I will always remember the feeling of love and excitement taking those right before our ceremony!
