I don’t know why “spring cleaning” is a thing, I mean shouldn’t we be cleaning all year long? However, I love a good excuse to declutter and get organized! I usually do this at the beginning of every season, I like going through things I don’t need anymore and decluttering my space. I wanted to pull together some of my tips for how I spring clean, plus share some of the cute storage and decor I have found this spring!
Spring Cleaning Tips & Tricks
1. Make a Long List of Everything You Want to Clean and Declutter
This can be by rooms, or by activities such as “vacuum, dust, etc.” I like doing this because it makes me feel accomplished to check each part off of my list!
2. Start by Decluttering
Before you organize or deep clean it helps to get rid of anything you don’t need. Clothes you don’t wear anymore, junk drawers, things that just sit around that you don’t use, etc. Starting with a decluttered space will help a ton when it comes to actually cleaning and organizing.
3. Make a List of Any Storage Accessories You Need
As you declutter you will begin to notice that some things just don’t have a place. Maybe it’s the pile of blankets stacked in your closet, your sunglasses that are all spread between your car, purses, and dresser, or maybe your jewelry that has never been fully organized. As you declutter start taking note of what you need to buy to become more organized.
4. Organization time!
Time to make sure everything has a place. I love watching people’s room tours, bathroom tours, closet tours, makeup collection tours, etc. on Youtube for inspiration and to keep me motivate! Other people always have the best ideas when it comes to organizing and decorating their space.
5. After You Declutter & Organize, it’s Time to Clean!
Like I said above, I like to make a list of everything I want to clean. Mine looks something like this:
Dust Room
Dust Bathroom
Vacuum Room
Vacuum Bathroom
Mop Room
Mop Bathroom
Clorox Lightswitches
Clorox Bathroom
Clean Toilet
etc…
6. Make a List of Cleaning To Dos for the Weeks Following
Now that everything is clean, it’s time to keep up with it! I like to choose one day a week (usually Sunday) to deep clean, and also make daily to do lists for other things. Daily lists include making my bed, laundry, unloading the dishwasher, etc. Weekly lists include vacuuming and the heavier duty tasks! The more you keep up with your cleaning the happier your space will be!

I wanted to share some of the cute storage items I have found while I have been doing my spring cleaning! I own a few of these items and they have really helped me stay organized. I love when everything has it’s place! Target and Pbteen are my favorite places to shop for storage, but places like the Container Store, Ikea, Walmart, and even the Dollar Store are also great places to look!
