Three Weeks of Spring Cleaning

It’s that time of year! In the spring I am always wanting to find new places to organize & deep clean in my home. It just feels like such a fresh start! If you have followed me for awhile, you probably know that I take pride in having a happy home. Something I am actively working on is decluttering and organizing different areas of my house to create a more calm & peaceful space.

One of my favorite ways to accomplish this is choose one big task a week and tackle it! So here’s an easy three week challenge if you want to get started too! Focus on one area to clean and declutter every week, it could be every lunch break, 30 minutes after work, or a fun Saturday project. This is a fun way to get started and feel organized for spring!

1. Pantry:

Start by cleaning out all your expired food, things you never eat, replace staples, & make an organization system that makes sense! I replaced all my spices with cute jars and labels which really elevated the space. I love my Amazon baskets, product baskets, and Target baskets that hold my food. The Container Store wooden labels were such a fun touch for labeling my baskets and easy storage. Lastly, one of my favorite projects has been creating my food jars for flour, sugar, oatmeal and more. It really adds some character to a typically “boring” part of the house.

2. Beauty Products:

I can’t be the only one that hoards old products or keeps things even though I never use them… this is the time to go through and declutter! Make sure you toss any old makeup, hair products, or skincare. You can donate new, unused items to women’s shelters! Then the fun part – making it look organized and pretty! These Amazon acrylic organizers are the best for create a cohesive look while making sure all your makeup has a spot!

3. Bathroom Cabinet (& drawers…)

Why do bathroom cabinets & drawers always get so messy? It’s probably because I end up throwing my products in random places when I am in a rush in the morning. This is why it is so important to make sure everything has a designated spot! Then it is so easy to put things back where they belong, and you won’t feel as overwhelmed. Again, make sure to throw out old products and random items you’re hoarding. Then the fun part, organize! I love the look of these Container Store plastic bins with bamboo lids. I used the same wooden labels as I did in the kitchen to give them a cohesive look! By the way, I buy all my labels on Etsy!

I love having a happy space, but it takes time! Small baby steps will get you there eventually. Remember to take a good luck at what you do and don’t need. What will you organize first? Good luck!

xoxo,
