Why I Haven’t Been Posting + What to Expect this Fall | OOTD

Ugh…I only posted twice last week. I usually post 5 times a week (Monday – Friday) and I hate when I slip. However, stuff happens! It was kind of a crazy week because my mom was leaving town and I was trying work around her scheduled and get ahead on my blog (since she takes my photos). I have also been trying to be more “in the moment” on my Instagram so I was posting more on there than my blog. I am currently trying to find a balance between the two because I like the more “day to day” posts on Instagram, but they take up more time to snap a pic and edit on top of trying to shoot outfit posts and edit those for my blog (plus I need twice as many outfits). I am going to figure it out though!

Also, to be honest, I have just been in a very slight funk. Which sucks because I haven’t felt this way in so long. I am SO happy with life right now, I wouldn’t change a single thing. However, I have been overwhelmed with work and school and on top of that this time last year was really hard on me and for some reason it’s been on my mind. Dates are weirdly important to me, so I think that’s why I have felt weird. I remember every significant date of my life, the good and the bad. A year ago I was in a horrible, unhealthy relationship that was coming to an end. I know I have talked about my last relationship on my blog before, and I used to always try to keep it very nice and talk about the relationship being good, but it wasn’t. It was toxic, he cheated, and this time last year was hell for me. It was so draining looking back and I wasn’t myself.

I am not saying I was perfect in the relationship, but I didn’t deserve what I went through. I think I was blind to a lot of the bad for a long time which makes looking back even harder because I think, “if only I would have known what was going on behind my back.” I haven’t thought about that relationship or him in so long, but this month as I moved back to Lawerence I kept having flashbacks of all the horrible times from the year before. He was really manipulative and as hard as that whole time of my life was it definitely makes me thankful for where I am now and who I have in my life.

Now I am finally feeling back like myself and I am so happy about that! It was just an off few weeks with some life changes and bad memories. I think it’s okay to look back on times of your life and still have emotions about it every once in awhile. I also think it’s good to talk about it! Girls, the last thing I will say is trust your instincts. I don’t regret my last relationship because I learned so much about myself and what I deserve, but if you feel like something is off then listen to that gut feeling.

Anyways, let’s talk about what to expect from the blog this fall! I decided I wanted to be more intentional with my blog posts and post with a purpose. The last few years I have posted outfit photos that I also post to my instagram and everything felt very calculated and repetitive. I decided I want to do Instagram exclusive content and blog exclusive content to make each platform it’s own! It’s going to take more time, but I am really excited. I want to do some fall decor posts coming up and also some posts with my boyfriend and behind the scenes of my life! I will still be posting mostly fashion, but I want to add in some other fun stuff too! Get excited!

| Grey Knit Duster (ON SALE and I am wearing a size small) | Black Cami (I am wearing a size x-small, more sizes available here + more linked below) | Faux “Gucci” Belt ($30 and I am wearing a size 110cm, but it is a bit too big) | Dark Denim Jeans (similar) | Vince Camuto Booties ON SALE and comes in three colors, true to size) | Sunglasses |

Sooo let’s talk about this faux Gucci belt. I posted this on my Instagram story the other day and so many of you got excited because it’s only $30! I know it’s frowned upon to buy knock-offs, but I am just not really a belt person. I also can’t spend $600+ on a belt! I have never been that into designer clothing – which it is okay if you are we all have different things we like to splurge on – but I was excited to snag these belts for less! They look super similar to the real things. I am wearing the size 110cm, but I would suggest sizing down if you are my size because it is a bit too big!

Also, I have been OBSESSED with camis lately. I am actually about to order a few more so I will link them below! They are perfect for layering. Another thing I am loving is these longer dusters (which why are they even called that?). I think this one is so cute and the perfect fall color!

Have an amazing week y’all!

xoxo,
